Kenny Salazar, Technical Assistance ♦ kenny@lasacequias.org
Kenny resides in La Mesilla, NM. He has a long tenure (20+ years) working on water issues. In addition to NMAA, he oversees the Santa Cruz Irrigation District. He is also a Supervisor for the East Rio Arriba Soil & Water Conservation District (ERAS&WCD). He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from the University of New Mexico in 1994. In May of 2005 he retired from the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) after 30 years of work. Kenny has served as a member of the Acequia de La Mesilla Commission for the past eighteen years. On occasion, he has also served as Mayordomo.
Kenny began working for NMAA in 2004. He's assisted hundreds of acequias for various governance issues and has helped many acequias update their bylaws. In addition to his role as a Technical Service Provider, he also maintains an active role in the Mayordomo Project.
In his spare time Kenny enjoys fly fishing, road trips in his RV to various national parks, playing music with his jam mates, and spending time with his family.
