Exempts industry from penalties if incident reported voluntarily within certain number of days.

SB 95

Cisneros

Provides $150k to NMSU for Rural Entrepreneurship program for small scale farmers and ranchers.

Passed Senate Education Committee.  Located in SFC.

SB 59 R. Martinez

Land grant tort liability. Provides certain exclusions from waiver of immunity of liability; and extends eligibility for liability coverage for community land grants governed as political subdivisions.

Passed Senate. Next to House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee.

HB 19 Stewart

Provides state engineer jurisdiction over deep aquifers below 2500′.

Passed House. Passed SCONC. Next to SJC.


SB 486 Ortiz y Pino

Limits powers of certain districts over acequias and community ditches.

Passed Senate Conservation Committee. Passed Senate Public Affiars.

HB 473 Egolf

Amendment to the requirements for the position of State Engineer to include geohydrologists, hydrologists, and attorneys.

Passed Agriculture and Water Resources Committee. Currently in House Health and Govt. Affairs Committee.

SB 336 Sapien


Auditing local governments, including acequias.

Passed Senate. Now in HHAGC.

SB 560 McSorley

Protects farmers from liability if crops become crossed or otherwise mixed with genetically engineered crops.

Senate Conservation Committee.  TABLED.

HB 219 Egolf

Free Market Energy Restoration Act.
Discloses owner of mineral estate to surface landowners.

Passed Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Currently in House Judiciary Committee.
