The Food and Agriculture Program currently encompasses Sembrando Semillas the purpose of which is to cultivate the next generation of farmers and ranchers through intergenerational community food projects. The program also includes two collaborative efforts. One is the New Mexico Food and Seed Sovereignty Alliance, an acequia-Pueblo alliance established to promote the cultivation of native seeds and to protect seeds from genetic contamination. The other is the Good Food for New Mexico Families initiative which seeks to rebuild local and regional food systems through on-the-ground projects and policy advocacy.
